I came to Japan in July, 2011 as a dependent of my spouse. When I first time walked in Saitama University with my husband, I dreamed to be a student of Saidai. My background is civil engineering and department of civil and environmental engineering in Saitama University is highly ranked in Japan. I contacted with Dr. Hisashi Kubota of transport planning lab and was fortunate enough that he considered my candidacy as his research student. Finally my dream came true and I enrolled as master student since April, 2012.
My intellectual ability and communication skill advanced in this two years. I learnt how to solve the problem individually, more precisely how to cope with new ideas. Availability of supporting research materials like huge subscription of journals, books, experimental instruments enhance my willingness to do better research. My current research theme is pedestrian safety at signalized intersection and I am working with real life video data to solve the issues. I will continue my study as doctoral student in the same lab for next three years.
Apart from research activity, I am also involved in some co-curricular activities like English summer camp, part time English teaching, home stay program etc. Saitama University affords many opportunities exclusive of research for foreign students. Finally I request all the new comers to explore their Japanese life. You have many good memories remains to store for your future life. Don’t miss the chance to study at Saidai!!!
