On November 25, 2021, H.E. Mr. Mukhsinqulja Abdurakhmonov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Muzaffar Jalilov, Minister-Counselor (Educational Exchange) and Mr. Jahangir Turgunov, Counselor (Private Business Exchange) from the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Japan paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Takafumi Sakai, President of Saitama University. This visit was made possible by the International Affairs Division of Saitama Prefecture, which acted as a bridge between the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Japan and Saitama University, as the alma mater of the Ambassador Abdurakhmonov is Tashkent State University of Economics in the Republic of Uzbekistan, one of our partner universities.

From our university, Dr. Takafumi Sakai, President, Dr. Hiroyuki Taguchi, Professor of the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Dr. Yasuhiro Hasegawa, Director of International Planning Office and Associate Professor of the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, and Mr. Abdullaev Elbek, government-sponsored international student at Saitama university, participated in the event. In a friendly atmosphere, Dr. Taguchi explained the status of exchange with the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Ambassador Abdurakhmonov and the President Sakai had a meaningful exchange of opinions on the possibility of future faculty and student exchange.
